Children’s Art Showcase Student Reception
Saturday, May 5, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeThe ninth Medford Children’s Art Showcase, a citywide exhibit of work by students in the Medford Public Schools, is being held this year at the Medford Public Library throughout May. This collaborative and inclusive public exhibit celebrates the creativity of the city’s students and art educators. This exhibit of about 500 pieces of student work at different grade levels displays the richness of arts education in the Medford Public Schools, and offers a unique snapshot of the continuum of art learning.
Admission to the exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours. A student artist reception will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, in the Magoun Room at the library.
Since its inception, the Medford Children’s Art Showcase has been supported in part by a grant from the Medford Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Sadly, the excellent Blick Art Room Aid program, which facilitated and provided donations for many years, is being discontinued this year. If you are interested in donating supplies for future exhibits like this, please email the exhibit coordinator Jenn DesAutels, jenn@studiojcd.com.
The exhibit is coordinated by local volunteers. Learn more more online at www.studiojcd.com/cas or on Facebook at facebook.com/medfordyouthart.
