Climate Change Book Group: Hum

Wednesday, April 9 @ 7:00 pm

Free

The Medford Public Library’s Climate Change Book Group, “Planet and Pages,” meets to discuss “Hum” by Helen Phillips. A dystopian thriller that explores AI, selfhood, and humanity, “Hum” is an urgent and unflinching portrayal of a woman’s fight for her family’s security in a world shaped by global warming and rapid technological progress. Copies are available to borrow at the library or to purchase at Trove Green Provisions in Medford Hillside. Register for the meeting through the library’s online calendar and attend to talk about “Hum” or any climate-related topics.

Led by green entrepreneur and Trove Green owner Clare Flaherty, the group reads both non-fiction and fiction books about climate change and explores topics such as global warming, plastic pollution, environmental inequity, and proposed solutions to combat their effects. Trove Green Provisions is a people and planet friendly product and refilling store offering provisions and services to help you live a lower waste and greener life.
