Deep Cuts is hosting a one-day display of “Feelin’ Chili’s Crispy,” a collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and video by Lowell artist Colleen Green. Green writes, “The collection takes an irreverent, humorous, and sardonic look at the culture of American consumption, capitalism, homogenization, and privilege, while at the same time being a celebration of these very things which most of us, whether we like it or not, willingly indulge in. This show is the second thought that the inhabitants of the developed world seldom give to the habits of spending, wasting, and general frivolity. On the other hand, what the heck else are we supposed to do? If something is there to be enjoyed, we may as well enjoy it and that is what I hope everyone who comes to see this art show does.” The art will be displayed all day today, and Green will be on hand for a reception at 7 p.m.
