The Tufts University Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies welcomes Jessi Stegall for a work-in-progress showing of her latest project, The Theremin Vignettes. The Theremin Vignettes is an evening-length dance-theatre production in ode to Clara Rockmore. Made up of a series of non-linear, idiosyncratic vignettes, The Theremin Vignettes explores themes of grief, remembrance and devotion through absurd interpretations of Rockmore’s life, work and impact. Each vignette is set to a track from Rockmore’s “Lost Theremin Album,” a posthumous record of Clara and her sister, pianist Nadia Reisenberg, playing classical scores reinterpreted for theremin and piano.
