The Medford Recreation Department is offering a new art program, Drawing 101, for kids ages 10 to 13, full of everyday lessons to improve your drawing skills. Students will develop a strong mental framework to guide drawings for any medium they choose to specialize in. Each two-week chapter will showcase the different thought processes and elements of art that are utilized by experienced artists to minimize their mistakes and efficiently learn from them as well: Value Scale, Perspective, Drawing What You See (references) and Still Life. The class will meet for nine consecutive Thursdays, February 9 through April 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. Cost is $90 for residents and $108 for non-residents. Register through the Medford Recreation website.
