The recorder is much maligned instrument and well known from elementary school music classes. But it actually has a rich repertoire spanning a thousand years, with its heart in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. And its development continues to this day. In this presentation, Medford musician Emily O’Brien will demonstrate recorders from several time periods and perform some of the virtuosic repertoire for this beautiful instrument, including compositions both old and new.
