Emily O’Brien Virtual Concert: Bach Sonatas
Wednesday, July 28, 2021 @ 8:00 pm
FreeMedford musician Emily O’Brien presents a virtual summer concert of organ trio sonatas of J.S. Bach, arranged for recorders! Bach’s six organ trio sonatas are some of Emily’s favorite pieces. She pre-recorded all the parts herself, able to easily mix and match different combinations and doublings. In this program she presents No. 1, 2 and 6.
This program is being presented as part of the Society for Historically Informed Performance’s summer concert series. It premieres via YouTube, Facebook, and SoHIP’s home page.
Emily O’Brien is a native of Washington, D.C., where she played recorder from a young age. She studied recorder and french horn at Boston University, and recorder and Baroque flute at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, Germany. She performs in recorder ensembles and historical chamber music, as well as English Country Dance bands. As a teacher, she works with private students and ensembles in the Boston area as well as teaching at various summer workshops.
