Today is the final day to view the Medford Public Library art exhibition for November-December, “Shapes From Nature: Paintings Sensing Nature,” featuring the work of Medford resident Estrid Eklof. Eklof’s paintings are based on a many layered water color foundation, often with graphite and Conté stick marks added. “Twig Series” was inspired by the restless patterns of pine needles and broken twigs found in snow. “Shadow Series” was inspired by the quiet patterns made on sand from scrub pine trees.

This is the first Massachusetts exhibit for Eklof, a relative newcomer to Medford. Some of her past exhibits in Connecticut were at the Art Alliance of New Britain Gallery, Hartford Fine Art Gallery, New Britain Museum of American Art (juried), Essex Art Association, and Canton Gallery on the Green (juried).
