The October art exhibition at the Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library will feature New England paintings by Phillip Olander. The artists says, “My paintings are about the spirit of place, the genius loci. A successful painting should enable the viewer to conjure the felt experience of a particular time and place. Most of my work depicts the New England coast and points of local interest.” Included in the October exhibition will be several views of the Mystic River in Medford. Olander’s work will be on view in the library’s second-floor gallery all month during regular library hours.
