The Medford Public Library opens its art exhibition for March-April, featuring paintings by Medford resident Elaina Bates-Egan. Her paintings are rooted in abstract expressionism and explore color, texture and movement while paying homage to the natural world. The series on view, “Transcending Mt. Olympus,” uses the lens of ancient Greek mythology to explore the complexities and nuances of the human experience. The exhibition may be viewed in the second-floor gallery during regular library hours through April 29. A reception with the artist will be held on Saturday, April 1, from 2 to 4 p.m.
