Faith and Film: Exhibiting Forgiveness
Friday, January 31 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
FreeSanctuary United Church of Christ and Hillside Community Church present another edition of their Faith and Film series, featuring the 2024 drama “Exhibiting Forgiveness,” directed by Titus Kaphar. In this raw and deeply moving film — a profound reflection on fractured relationships and the ways we heal — a family comes to terms with the past and learns that forgetting might be harder than forgiving. The film (1 hour, 54 minutes) will screen at Hillside Church, with a discussion to follow. Those who cannot attend in person are invited to watch the film at home using an online streaming service, then join the discussion at 8:30 p.m. via Zoom (link available on the event page).
Sanctuary UCC began Faith and Film in 2016 to explore the places where pop culture meets faith. Attendees watch a current film, followed by a discussion about themes of morality, faith, and humanity led by local theologians and community leaders.
