Faith and Film: Where Olive Trees Weep
Thursday, July 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:45 pm
FreeSanctuary United Church of Christ and Hillside Community Church present a Faith and Film series program at the library featuring the movie “Where Olive Trees Weep.” The feature-length documentary, released in June, offers a window into Palestinian resilience under Israeli occupation, following journalists and activists amidst trauma, land confiscation, and oppression, while questioning the oppressor’s ruthless blindness to its own cruelty. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the film (1 hour, 43 minutes long) will begin at 6. A facilitated discussion will follow until 8:45 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required through the online event form.
Sanctuary UCC began its Faith and Film series in 2016 to explore the places where pop culture meets faith. Attendees watch a current film, followed by a discussion about themes of morality, faith, and humanity led by local theologians and community leaders.
