The annual Women Take the Reel Film Festival presents a screening of the 2023 comedy “Quiz Lady,” followed by a conversation with director and Academy Award winner Jessica Yu. Moderated by Tufts Professor of the Practice Jennifer Burton, the discussion will explore topics including Asian American representation on television/film and current challenges for women and POC in media.

This annual film festival is a collaborative effort among Women’s and Gender Studies departments involved in the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Gender, Culture, Women, and Sexuality (as well as select institutions/universities aligned with its mission) that features films directed by women and about issues relating to gender, race, sexuality, class and/or feminism. Films are shown in February and March at Tufts, MIT, and Lesley University.

All films are free and open to the public.
