Glass Fusing Workshop
Wednesday, January 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeThe Medford Public Library is offering a Glass Fusing Workshop for adults led by Michel L’Huillier. Participants will learn the basics of glass fusing by creating one 8-by-10-inch tile that will be kiln-fired at 1,400 degrees — a low temperature that allows the glass elements of the design to stay three-dimensional. To create your composition, you will work with powders, frit, confetti, copper shapes, stringers, and glass pieces. Landscapes and flowers are popular sources of inspiration, but you are welcome to explore other ideas. Instructor L’Huillier will fire your creation in his own kiln. The glass creations will be returned mounted in a white or black shadow box. No previous glass experience is necessary. Register through the library’s new online calendar.
