Halloween Midnight Organ Concert
Thursday, October 31, 2019 @ 11:45 pm - 1:00 am
FreeThe Tufts University Chaplaincy presents its annual All-Saints Eve late-night recital of haunting music, played by Music Director Thomas B. Dawkins at the 1883 Hook & Hastings organ and Steinway piano of Goddard Chapel.
The night of Halloween has been recognized in many times and cultures as an in-between time. In the Western Christian tradition, this is the eve of All Hallows, or All Saints’ Day — a holy day on November 1. Latin American cultures celebrate Dia de los Muertos, and Pagans have long celebrated the late harvest of Samhain.
A reception with cider and doughnuts will follow in the common room. All are welcome.
Note, this year a family-friendly Trick or Treat Kickoff organ concert also will be presented at Goddard Chapel on October 31, at 4:50 p.m. Costumes welcomed!
