Sanctuary United Church of Christ invites you to an art gallery reception celebrating the Lakota Youth Stay Program through the eyes of the participants. Come view an exhibit of photos taken by 11 Lakota Youth from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, during this year’s third annual cultural exchange program with their Medford host families. The pictures will highlight their experiences around Greater Boston.

Following the reception, the photos will remain on view through July during regular gallery hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, and also by appointment.

The purpose of the Lakota YouthStay Program is to foster authentic, mutually fulfilling relationships between Native American youth from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and youth/adults from Eastern Massachusetts. By exchanging visits to each other’s communities, the program seeks to create cultural understanding.
