The Lakota YouthStay program is presenting a free poetry workshop, “Let’s Make a Memory: Connecting Community,” in the Brooks Elementary School library. Open to youth ages 12 to 15 from Medford and nearby communities, the workshop will be led by Terry E. Carter, who concluded is term as the City of Medford’s first poet laureate on June 30.  The poems created at the workshop, along with photographs by participants in the 2023 Lakota YouthStay program, will be featured at a reception titled “We Are All Related: Photographs and Poems by Lakota and Medford Youth,” at The Gallery at Sanctuary on Wednesday, July 19.
