Leading While Black: 50 Years of Transformational Black Leadership at Tufts

Saturday, February 19, 2022 @ 1:00 pm

Free

“Leading While Black: 50 Years of Transformational Black Leadership at Tufts University,” illuminates the long-standing presence and contributions of Black university leaders at Tufts to governance, institutional decision-making, community leadership, and the “good trouble” of disrupting norms. The program honors eight leaders who served Tufts over the past half century, reflecting on how they worked to promote the initiative, research excellence, and creativity of the entire university, and projects what their leadership means for the future of Tufts.

Today’s livestream event explores the contributions of these influential Black leaders at Tufts and reckons with two central questions: What has Black leadership meant for the university over the past half-century? And how do members of the Tufts community expand the horizons of executive leadership?
