This summer marks the inaugural season of “Let’s Put On A Show!” in which kids ages 6 to 13 create and perform an original musical. The program is being offered in five one-week sessions in the weeks of July 9, 16, 23 and 30, and August 6.  Each week will have a special theme.

In the course of the week, instructors will help the kids:

• Choose a story and use improv games to create a script with a part for everyone

• Write the lyrics and melody for songs that support the story

• Get coaching on how to deal with stage fright

• Learn how to give constructive feedback and be nice at the same time

• Rehearse for a  Friday performance for families and friends

At the end of the week, every child will go home with a copy of the script they helped create and families will receive a link to download a video of the performance.

“Let’s Put On A Show!” meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford. Tuition is $195; space is limited.
