Tune learners, second instrument players, people who enjoy playing at a chill pace (or just like listening to great Irish music) . . . all are welcome to gather ’round the computer hearth with Medford musicians Matt and Shannon Heaton and their friend Maura Shawn Scanlin for an hour of grateful — and moderately-paced — Irish tunes. Play along, say hi or share your thoughts with Matt and Shannon and a global community of participants.

Scanlin, a native of Boone, North Carolina, who now lives in Boston, is a two-time U.S. National Scottish Fiddling Champion and a winner of the Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship in Perthshire, Scotland. She has degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and the Yale School of Music. She also is part of the duo Rakish, with guitarist Conor Hearn.
