The Medford Chess Club invites chess fans of all ages to a kids version of a simultaneous exhibition of chess (simul). Guest challenger Kaiya, an 11-year-old from the Funky Owl Chess Club of Holliston, will face off against 10 of the best local chess competitors at the same time in a match to showcase the ability of these youth chess club players.

The kids simul will start at 11:15 a.m. From 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., an experienced coach from the Funky Owl Chess club will present a seminar on the steps to start a school or neighborhood chess club, modularizing a few lessons plans to learn from and the steps it takes to succeed on a long-term basis.
