Medford Community Chorale Holiday Concert
Friday, December 1, 2023 @ 7:00 pm
FreeThe Medford Community Chorale and Youth Chorus present their annual holiday concert, titled “Let It Snow.” The program will feature MCC’s 70-voice full chorus and 29-voice combined youth and young adult chorus, accompanied by pianist Dr. Holly Zagaria, along with guest musicians. In addition to the title song, Jule Styne’s “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”, the program will feature music by John Rutter, Mariah Carey, Handel, Charles Gounod, John Lennon and John Williams, to name a few. Special guest Jordan Rich, the well-known radio talk show host from WBZ-AM 1030 in Boston, will narrate Clement Moore’s “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Admission is free, although contributions toward the ongoing expenses of the Chorale are greatly appreciated. A portion of the proceeds from the concert program book will benefit Chapters Coffee Carts Inc., a nonprofit supported worksite located in the Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library. Its mission is to help advance the lives of Medford’s disabled persons seeking employment and professional skills on-the-job training, so that they may flourish and become part of the broader work force.
The Medford Community Chorale provides performance opportunities in the art of choral singing for residents of Medford and surrounding communities; presents choral performances to the public twice a year; and performs at nursing homes and special community events. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings. The chorale welcomes new members; if interested, contact music director Betsy Pesce at elizabethpesce@comcast.net or 617-335-8155.
