The Medford Farmers Market kicks off its 14th season and its fifth year at the Condon Band Shell Park on Mystic Valley Parkway. Opening day vendors will be Ackermann Maple Farm, Bart’s Ice Cream, Beads by Beardslee, Bread Obsession, Boston Microgreens, Brigham Farm, Craic Hot Sauce, Deano’s Pasta, Doris’ Peruvian Pastries, Garbage to Garden Compost, Humble Bones Granola,  Native Colombian Coffee, Peg’s Preserves, Personalized for You Masks, Q’s Nuts, Rice’s Roots Farm, Samira’s Homemade, Urban Spice World and Woodworking by Jess.

Live on-site music returns to the market this week with Alex Cumming performing from 4 to 6 p.m. Alex is a traditional singer, accordionist, pianist and dance caller hailing from Somerset, England, now living in Medford and serving as the music director for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford. He performs songs and tunes from around the United Kingdom and America with a great depth of knowledge of the tradition.
