Today marks the start of the Medford Public Library’s Kid Edition Summer Reading Challenge. Children up to age 12 (or entering grade 5) can register for the Challenge at medfordlibrary.beanstack.org and log every minute they’re reading from June 19 through August 31.

Summer is a great time to try out new books and explore different ways of reading. Everything you read counts — newspapers, magazines, comics, audiobooks.

The top five readers and three random raffled winners (plus their families) will get an exclusive tour of the new William & Charlotte Bloomberg Medford Public Library building before it opens to the public.
