Memoir-Writing Workshop

FreeThe Medford Public Library is offering a seven-week Memoir-Writing Workshop led by Judah Leblang. In this course, open to writers or aspiring writers at all levels of experience, you will:
- Discuss the process of writing memoir pieces and what makes a good story
- Look at examples of short memoir vignettes and discuss what makes them effective
- Refine your pieces in a workshop format and receive supportive/constructive feedback
- Complete a series of in-class writing exercises
- Expand your understanding of the craft of writing memoir/creative nonfiction
- Develop or strengthen your writing practice
- Have fun while learning
Judah Leblang is a writer, storyteller and teacher who divides his time between Medford and Boston. He is a columnist for Bay Windows, Boston’s LGBT newspaper, and the author of the memoir “Echoes of Jerry.” He teaches nonfiction writing at GrubStreet, Literary Cleveland and other venues
The workshop will take place at the new Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from February 22 through April 5. Register through the library website.
