The Royall House & Slave Quarters invites you to an engaging conversation and powerful reading with Porsha Olayiwola, poet laureate for the city of Boston and author of the book, “i shimmer sometimes too.” Porsha Olayiwola is a writer, performer, educator, and curator who uses afro-futurism and surrealism to examine historical and current issues in the Black, woman, and queer diasporas. Her 2019 book “i shimmer” features poems that dip their hands into the fabric of black womanhood and revel in it.
