Prometheus Duo

FreeFirst Baptist Church of Medford presents a concert by the Prometheus Duo, Marko Stuparevic on piano and Joseph Abad on saxophone. Prometheus Duo specializes in the masterpieces of baroque music, classical literature, and contempary commissioned music. For this concert the will perform eclectic works of classical and world music.
Stuparevic has appeared in numerous concerts and festivals in the U.S., Israel, France, Serbia, Iceland, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Slovakia as a solo performer and chamber musician. He has won top prizes in the Dimitar Nenov, Petar Konjovic, American Protégé, Nikolai Rubinstein competitions and many other international piano contests. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree (DMA) at the Hartt School of Music in West Hartford, Conn., studying with praised American pianist Dr Paul Rutman.
Abad is a contemporary, classical saxophonist and educator based in the Hartford, Conn., area. As a concerti soloist, he has enjoyed collaborating with the Connecticut Valley Chamber Orchestra, the Hamden Symphony Orchestra, the Hudson Valley Chamber Winds, The Hartt School Wind Ensemble, The Hartt Symphony Orchestra, and the University of California (Davis) Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. As a chamber musician, Abad has had performed in 16 states as well as performances and recitals in Japan, Italy, and Iceland. From 2012-16, he was the soprano saxophonist of the Hartford-based Asylum Quartet.
