Tufts Hillel sponsors “Read by the River,” a campus-wide initiative that celebrates the love of books and reading. Tufts University students work throughout the year to plan the event, which welcomes 1,200 local children in grades K through 5 and their families.

Each spring, more than 200 Tufts students volunteer at a literacy carnival on campus featuring fun reading-related activities in collaboration with local libraries and schools, as well as performances by student groups and an appearance by a member of the New England Patriots.
