The Medford Recreation Department is offering its second Sensory Art Program for ages 5 to 14. Sensory Art is the use of coloring tools and other sensory media to produce creative “works of art.” These activities improve a child’s sensory processing skills in an enjoyable manner. Program Manager Kate Quinn and assisting staff/volunteers will teach unique art projects to participants, such as bubble wrap painting, sand art, clay molding, tissue paper crumple, fruit paint prints and shaving cream coloring. The program runs for eight Saturdays from February 11 through April 8 (no class on February 25 due to school vacation week) from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Cost is $64 for residents and $80 for non-residents.
