The Tufts University Department of Music presents a live-streamed performance by the Sheffield Chamber Players titled “The Restlessness of Nostalgia.” With one eye on the rearview and the foot squarely on the accelerator, each piece in this collection looks back while blazing forward — growing, striving and innovating. From the wild ride of Gabriella Smith’s “Carrot Revolution,” to George Walker’s poignant “Lyric,” through the transformative warmth of Haydn’s “Sunrise” Quartet, and finally sweeping into the electric swirling of Kareem Roustom’s “Four Dances from Clorinda,” each piece takes a close look at where we have been, and offers compelling insight into where we are going next.
