The Tufts University Department of Music is co-sponsoring with the Tisch College of Civic Life this month’s Solomont Speaker Series featuring award-winning hip-hop artists and activists Lupe Fiasco and Dee-1. Hear the artists discuss the power and potential of hip-hop as a force for social justice, education and community engagement. Fiasco is a Chicago-born, Grammy Award-winning rapper, record producer, entrepreneur and community advocate. Dee-1 is an educator — and former middle school math teacher — activist, rapper, business owner, and world-renowned keynote speaker currently serving as the Nasir Jones Hip Hop Fellow at Harvard University.
