Talking with Terri Lyne Carrington
Wednesday, June 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm
FreeThe Medford Public Library presents a conversation with Medford native Terri Lyne Carrington, the three-time Grammy award-winning drummer, composer, producer and educator. Carrington is an NEA Jazz Master, Doris Duke Artist, and founder and artistic director of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. She has performed on more than 100 recordings over her 40-year career and has toured and recorded with luminaries such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Stan Getz, Esperanza Spalding, and numerous others.
Join host Terry E. Carter, the city’s poet laureate, for an evening of conversation about music, Medford, and other topics, followed by an audience Q&A. Space is limited; RSVP through the library’s online calendar to be assured of a seat.
Please note that this is not a musical performance; Carrington will be returning to the library on Saturday, July 22 for a two-set concert.
