Medford High School tennis coach Drew Hendrickson is leading a tennis and ELA program for ages 7 through 13 that will offer fast-paced and fun tennis classes coupled with a reading and writing program led by a certified teacher.

The tennis portion will be fun, instructive and support teamwork and sportsmanship. Students will learn all basic tennis skills, participate in team-based activities, and engage in healthy competitions every day. The reading and writing component will consist of silent and group reading and daily writing activities. Each student will have a journal where students will free write, respond to writing prompts, write poems, and engage in other writing activities.

The program is being offered over six weeks, with four sessions per week, Monday through Thursday: July 11-14, July 18-21, July 25-28, August 1-4, August 8-11, and August 15-18. Each session will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Clarence A. Rhone Tennis Courts at Dugger Park. Cost per week is $240 for Medford residents, $260 for non-residents.
