This is the final week in which Medford High School tennis coach Drew Hendrickson is leading a tennis and ELA program for ages 7 through 13 that offers fast-paced and fun tennis classes coupled with a reading and writing program led by a certified teacher.

The tennis portion is fun, instructive and support teamwork and sportsmanship. Students learn all basic tennis skills, participate in team-based activities, and engage in healthy competitions every day. The reading and writing component consists of silent and group reading and daily writing activities. Each student has journal where they will free write, respond to writing prompts, write poems, and engage in other writing activities.

The Monday-Thursday program consists of four sessions from August 15 to 18, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Clarence A. Rhone Tennis Courts at Dugger Park. Cost per week is $240 for Medford residents, $260 for non-residents. Register through the Medford Recreation Department website.
