Terry E. Carter: An Evening of Virtual Verse
Friday, August 7, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The Medford Public Library, Medford Community Media, and the West Medford Community Center invite you to An Evening of Virtual Verse with poet Terry E. Carter, celebrating the launch of his new fifth anthology, “Brown Skin and the Brave New World: A Poet’s Anthem.”
Carter will talk about and read from his new work, which is a tight anthology of his previous four books with what he calls “a healthy, dynamic dose of righteous and real verse for where we are, right now.” A question-and-answer period will follow, including Carter responding to questions from readers about his life and his literary works.
Carter is a writer and a poet who grew up in West Medford and currently is the director of elder affairs at the West Medford Community Center. He has a bachelor’s degree in English from Fisk University and is a classically-trained poet whose influences range from Shakespeare to the Harlem Renaissance.
Signed books will be available for purchase at www.brownskinnedpoet.net.
The stream will be broadcast at www.facebook.com/WestMedfordCC and www.medfordtv.org.
