‘The Hardest Part of Being Black is Dying Only Once’
Wednesday, March 17, 2021 @ 12:15 pm
FreeTufts University Art Galleries present “The Hardest Part of Being Black is Dying Only Once,” a faculty talk with Dr. Kimberly Bain, the John Holmes Associate Professor in the Humanities, Tufts Department of English.
What do we do with the question of time and Blackness? Again and again, it seems that Black people never have enough time. When Black people are, always, out of time, how do we find spaces to have time enough—to live, to breathe, to die only once? In this talk, Bain will pose these questions and shares her latest research within the context of the exhibitions “Jibade-Khalil Huffman: Now That I Can Dance” and “Jibade-Khalil Huffman and ariella tai: Index,” both on view through March 26 (in person for the Tufts community, online for others).
