Medford will be raising a tipi this summer at Dugger Park as part of the third annual cultural exchange with the Lakota youth from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, who will be visiting the city through the Lakota YouthStay Program. There will be performances by the Wampanoag Eastern Suns drum group and dancers, Native storytelling in the 18-foot tipi, kids’ games, and MARV the art bus!

Lakota YouthStay connects 10- to 15-year-olds from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota with hosts in Medford for a week of exploration, building friendships and engagement through shared activities of interest.
