The Tufts University Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Joel LaRue Smith, explores the outer limits of contemporary jazz with cutting-edge arrangements by past and living composers. The music is always swinging, dancing and alive! This ensemble takes an audience through a musical labyrinth of sound, images and emotion, creating a tapestry of sound, depth and intrigue. This performance will include works by Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin and John Clayton.
