Tufts University continues its Sunday Concert Series with a performance by the Fernando Huergo Big Band. A bassist and composer originally from Argentina, Huergo’s latest project features his original compositions and arrangements for big band. Consisting of some of Boston’s finest musicians, the group plays the music of Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, Antonio Loureiro, and Huergo. The music features odd meters and a modern approach of the big band sound, and appears on Huergo’s upcoming album.
