UPIL/Notario Fraud

Saturday, January 12, 2019 @ 2:00 pm

Free

The Medford Public Library invites you to a program providing an overview of Unauthorized Practice of Immigration Law (also known as UPIL or Notario Fraud), a widespread problem in which dishonest individuals falsely disguise themselves as attorneys and charge immigrants hundreds and thousands of dollars for immigration services, forms or by providing them legal advice on their cases. This program, led by Yarlennys Villaman from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, will focus on providing tips how to avoid being a victim of this type of immigration scam.

No registration is required.

The program will be repeated at the library at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22.
