Virtual Accordion Camp
Saturday, September 19, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Medford resident Alex Cumming and three colleagues present a Virtual Accordion Camp, part of a fun, educational, and inspiring day for accordion players of all levels. Four daytime workshops will be offered via Zoom: How to Make a Simple Tune Sing!, It’s All Bass and Bellows, The Singing Accordionist, and The Bal Folk Scottish (Schottische).
Visit the event website for more details: https://virtualaccordioncamp.weebly.com/
Cumming, music director at Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford, is a traditional singer, accordionist, pianist, and dance caller who has made his mark on the folk scene with his rhythmic, dance-able accordion style. He will be joined by Virtual Accordion Camp co-founders Jeremiah McLane and Rachel Bell, plus the legendary UK accordionist Karen Tweed.
The four musicians will perform a Virtual Accordion Concert at 5 p.m. to conclude the day. It will be live-streamed on the Virtual Accordion Camp Facebook page.
