Words and Music: Medford’s Women’s History
Friday, March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeTonight’s Women’s History Month edition of the West Medford Community Center’s Words and Music program will feature a conversation with one of the city’s leading historians, Dee Morris. In the first hour of the program, hosted Terry E. Carter, Morris will touch on the lives of a number of legendary women in Medford’s dramatic and compelling past, including Amelia Earhart, Belinda Sutton, Lydia Maria Child, Sarah Bradlee Fulton, Madeline Dugger Kelley and Kaziah Ravaleon. In the second hour, Jenny Bonham-Carter will bring her “What the World Needs Now Interfaith Coalition” singers to the stage for a celebration of our kindred humanity, our desire for peace, and our faith in the promise of a beloved community.
The program also will be carried live by Medford Community Media on the city’s cable access stations (Comcast Channel 9 and Verizon Channel 47) and live-streamed on the WMCC Facebook page.
The West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. The program starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians.
