Words and Music: Hoops and Hope
Friday, August 2, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
FreeThe West Medford Community Center kicks off its third year of its monthly “Words and Music” program, highlighting “A Summer of Hoops and Hope” centered on the courts at Dugger Park. In the “Words” portion of the evening, panelists will discuss the WMCC Girls’ Summer League, and the Hoops and Hope Charity Classic coming up on Sunday, August 25, which includes the annual Brandon Bolden Memorial Tournament.
For the “Music” portion, Boston-based singer, songwriter and musician Amber Ais will perform. The Berklee College of Music graduate brings diverse musical influences to her performances including contemporary Christian, hip-hop, jazz and pop. Ais will be accompanied by Berklee student guitarist Angel Camillo.
The Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians.
