Words and Music: Women’s History Month
Friday, March 1, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
FreeThe West Medford Community Center presents its monthly “Words and Music” program, with a Women’s History Month theme.
The “Words” portion of the evening will feature history, education and personal reflection with the city of Medford’s new superintendent of schools, Dr. Marice Edouard-Vincent. Marice grew up in West Medford, and after a successful career as a top administrator in the Boston public school system, she came “home” to serve as the city’s first black superintendent of schools.
The “Music” portion of the evening will feature Boston-based Amber Ais, a multi-talented singer/songwriter and musician. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music, Ais brings diverse artistic and musical influences to her performances, including contemporary Christian, hip-hop, jazz and pop.
The Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians.
