Cinema Kidz: Superhero Films
The Medford Recreation Department is offering a six-week course for kids in kindergarten through grade 4 on how to make superhero films. Participants will invent, design, and become an original superhero to star in a short film. They'll begin with drafting a look and power for their hero. The Medford Recreation Department is offering a six-week "Adventures in Animation" course for kids in grades 5 to 8. Children will utilize a variety of materials to build props, characters, and fantastical mini-movie sets to feature in original stop-motion animation films. Experiment with combining live action with animation, as well as effects like drawing on each frame, and utilizing green screens and stock footage. Find out more »Paint the Ice at LoConte Rink
The Medford Recreation Department invites you to bring the family and your creativity to LoConte Rink for Paint the Ice! Families will receive a box of paint to paint the ice with any artwork desired. Be sure to take pictures of your artwork. At the end of the event, the Zamboni will be remove the paint. For ages 3 and up. No skating experience is necessary. Cost is $5 per person. Register through the Medford Recreation website.
