The Tufts University Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies presents the first of seven performances of “Sense and Sensibility,” directed by Barbara Wallace Grossman. This  inventive and rollicking adaptation by playwright Kate Hamill puts a kinetic, contemporary spin on Jane Austen’s beloved 1811 novel. Combining Austen’s cleverness and compassion with an exuberant sense of play, Hamill retains the novel’s Regency England setting yet draws striking parallels to our world today.

Additional performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, February 28 and 29; at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6; and at 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
