Words and Music: Juneteenth

Friday, June 11, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

West Medford Community Center’s Word and Music series presents “Medford Connections: Juneteenth.” Tune in for a conversation with Gwen Blackburn, host of the radio show “Minority Counterpoint,” and professor Julius Wayne Dudley about Medford’s own histories connected to Juneteenth. Following will be live music by the J Street Blues featuring Elliott Johnson, Greg Miller, Sir Cecil and Lee Lundie. The WMCC’s second annual Juneteenth Celebration will be presented virtually from 4 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 19.

View Words and Music live on the West Medford Community Center’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/WestMedfordCC, on Medford Community Media television stations Ch. 3 (Comcast) or 47 (Verizon).

West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians. For more information on this or other WMCC programs, visit the center’s website.
